Blueprint is an experimental interface for collaborative, gestural 3D Modeling.
The goal of Blueprint is to explore the possibilities of gestural interfaces in creative tools, and build a product that applies these to 3D Modeling. In 2017, our team recieved a grant and recognition from the University of Southern California’s Iovine and Young Prize for our work towards this goal.
The core of the project is the research behind it. However, we knew from the beginning that the real value of this project is the way it is applied in professional workflows.
The goal is to provide both custom hardware optimized for multi-hand gesture tracking as well as integrations with industry-standard tools like Maya and Blender.
Our current focus is determining the number of unique comfortable gestures that can be applied in 3d space, as well as determining how much space each of these gestures takes up. Using Leap Motion, we are currently testing these gestures in a proprietary modeling interface powered by WebGL and WebRTC.
